The Brock Farms Family
Brock Farms is a true family affair, and our journey to raising top-quality Angus beef started with a leap of faith! Back in 1990, David, fresh out of Vincennes University, saw an opportunity to trade hog barns for his own cattle herd. That initial Hereford herd laid the groundwork for what we are today. Over time, we strategically integrated Angus genetics, building a herd of purebred and Angus-based commercial cattle known for exceptional quality.
We're passionate about raising Angus bulls that offer a perfect balance: easy calving for healthy calves and efficient growth leading to outstanding carcass quality – exactly what makes our freezer beef so delicious. Our Angus females are equally important, bred to be sound, functional, and genetically superior, whether they're gracing the show ring or thriving in our pastures. To accelerate our progress, we even utilize a progressive embryo transfer program, ensuring we're always improving our top genetics. Our commitment extends to the next generation. Andy joined the farm full time in 2018 after graduating from college and Katie came back full time in 2020 after graduation from college -- Both Andy and Katie were 10 year 4H members and very active in FFA and understand the valuable lessons youth gain from livestock projects and are committed to helping show calf customers reach their goals.
The other important part of our farm is our freezer beef. What started as a small venture in 1997, with Kris selling wholes, halves, and quarters to friends, has blossomed into a thriving division. Word of our quality spread, and by 2020, we were serving many families. The pandemic highlighted the importance of knowing where your food comes from, and we were ready to meet that need. We realized that offering individual cuts alongside our wholesale options would make our farm-fresh beef accessible to even more people. Today, our on-farm freezers are open three days a week, managed by Courtney, allowing us to directly connect with our community.

There is more to Brock Farms than just cattle and crops. It is our family working together everyday to make it happen -- you will often find the 5th generation running around the place too. Andy and Courtney's little ones, Hadleigh and Baylor, and Katie and Collin’s daughter Charlie add to the excitement everyday. We believe in instilling a passion for farming from a young age and we are incredibly grateful to do what we do with the ones we love.
